Art installations, gallery and virtual

Did you know…..there is an art gallery at the Three Rivers Apartment complex? The entrance is across from Superior and Lafayette streets and also across from Don Halls Gas House. The Fort Wayne Artists Guild hangs art their among other places through out the city. This is a juried art show and my “Among Friends” was chosen to hang there along with many other beautiful paintings. The link to the show.
At the Lutheran Rehab Hospital I have an installation of twelve paintings in the cafeteria. Because of Covid-19 the coordinator of this program for the FWAG was only able to hang the art. I was not able to take any photos. I understand only employees and patients are allowed in the building right now but they have colorful and cheery art to look at when they have their meals. These will be up through the end of December. “Bob’s Hideout” is one of the twelve that are showing now.

The Fort Wayne Artists Guild also has an online members gallery with beautiful local artists paintings. The link to the online gallery.

Starting November 25 through December 26th, the Fort Wayne Artist Guild is having a Holiday Art Show and Sale. Wednesday November 25th the hours will be 4 pm to 8 pm. Regular Hours after that are Wednesday through Friday 11am through 7pm and Saturdays are 9 am to 5 pm. It will be held at 256 West Main Street, Fort Wayne. I will have four originals for sale along with prints and cards. Buy some original art for your home or for some lucky recipient for Christmas. It is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

“O Happy Day” will be one of my paintings for sale at the art show.
“Bunny Love” will be there also.

Here on my website I have a gallery of all my paintings, and an online shop to purchase cards, prints and some originals. Link to the gallery. Link to the online shop. Free shipping is still available, use the coupon code Freeship.

Original Art – For You

This was an early painting that I still have. It is titled “For You” and came up with that after I painted it. It came to me after reading the lines and thought everyone should say this to themselves everyday.

Follow Your Heart….Everyone should do this….it will make you happier.
Seek Bliss…..also a good thing…..even just getting a cup of coffee or sitting in nature during any season.
Find Happiness…..listen to a Ted talk…..buy a fat quarter of fabric….or a new paintbrush…even a fancy chocolate . Those are things that can make you happy and not cost much money.
Just Love…..be kind to one another.
The background is dark grey, and the hearts are uniform with pretty colors. The line drawings enhance the words and hearts.
One side has a line drawing of a stretching cat with a butterfly on his nose and a sun on his stomach.
The other side also has line drawings of simple botanicals and the bird tail is peeking at the top. The size of this canvas is 18 X 18. If you are interested in this mixed media painting please contact me.

Original Art – Pink Tulips

I am reintroducing paintings that I haven’t shown in a while and todays mixed media work is Pink Tulips. I created it one late winter day in anticipation of spring. The tulips are layered wallpaper painted over with acrylic paint. behind the flowers is various floral pieces of wallpaper with a white wash. The wallpaper leaves have dash marks made with a permanent ink pen. Some stencils are used along with sponges for interest. The quote is from Lucy Maude Montgomery who is the author of the Anne of Green Gables books. If you would love to add this to your collection please contact me.

Original Art For Sale – Aim for the Moon

I made this painting three years ago and so many people say they love it, but the right person hasn’t come along yet to give it a good home. It took quite a while to make because the wings on many of the birds are strips of wallpaper. All the birds are made with wallpaper but I then painted over areas. The owls are, from top to bottom….Great Horned, Snowy, Barn, Saw-Whet and Burrowing with adolescent. The burrow is made with molding paste and acrylic paint. The size is 18 X 24 gallery wrapped canvas. If you are interested and would like to talk about this painting please contact me.

A wise old owl sat on an oak, the more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke, the more he heard. Why can’t we all be like that bird?

Original for sale – Home

This large mixed media painting, 20 X 40 just has so much goodness in it. The horse that greets everyone coming down the driveway to the charming old brick home with flower boxes. It has a tree lined driveway. The back pasture has four horses running under a sunset or a sunrise whichever one prefers. Don’t forget the cats and kittens and the garden with various vegetables and sunflowers. A pickup truck to pull your horse trailer is a necessity. This painting was created with many elements, molding paste, acrylic paint, wallpaper and photo paper, a stencil, rubber stamps, ink and shiva oil paintsticks. This is a perfect painting for a narrower wall area as it is only 20 inches wide. The quote at the top of the painting was one of my favorites. Please contact me if you are interested and would like to discuss price.

Home is the nicest word there is. -Laura Ingalls Wilder

Taste the Beauty – Original for Sale

Original for sale, “Taste the Beauty”. It measures 24 inches by 36 inches and is on a gallery wrapped canvas, 1 1/2 inches deep, meaning it hangs nicely on the wall with no frame. It depicts renditions of poppies, hollyhocks, coreopsis, purple asters, daylilies, balloon flowers, salvias and dandelion poofs floating through the air. A spiral sun and a Henry David Thoreau quote nicely adds to the painting, “A Taste for the Beautiful is Most Cultivated out of Doors. The texture and colors on this work of art are fabulous. This is an early piece that has always been a favorite of customers and many have purchased reproductions. Please contact me if you are interested in this large mixed media painting.
