Wild Garden

My newest painting completed this last week just in time for the Great Lakes Art Fair. This mixed media painting has a fat junco bird along with orange and red poppies. Some of the poppies are painted and some made with wallpaper. This is a fun and colorful painting that also makes a beautiful print. It is now up in my store and be sure to use the coupon code of 35off2019 to receive 35% off of your order.
All the info that you need to know about the Great Lakes Art Fair if you are up that way. It is north of Detroit and in the nice city of Novi Michigan. This is my first show of the season and so far it looks like a pretty nice weekend the weather says. Looking forward to it for sure. It is time to get out there again after the winter.

Found something informative on the Allen County Public Library Website…..Yes true….the whole website is informative. They have an area artists link. So I submitted mine also! Here is the link.

Lastly I will have another art fair to add to my show schedule. I will be at the Round the Fountain Art Fair in Lafayette, IN. It is on the courthouse square. When Tom and I were first married we lived in that area and I worked across the street of the courthouse at Lafayette Bank and Trust. It was only a mere 38 years ago. It will be nice to go back and see it. The show is May 25th.

I’m Celebrating!

I am excited that spring is here and I am celebrating that I now can take coupon codes on my store! With these two happy events I am offering 35 percent off all prints and cards. Use this coupon code of 35off2019 when you check out until further notice. The link straight to the store.

More Prints Added

“Bar Harbor” in mixed media. This painting is a compilation of images that I took on a vacation in Bar Harbor Maine. Cadillac Mountain and the sunrise that is the first to hit North America, to the eagles soaring over the pine trees of the rock walls. Then the activity of the ocean, Egg Island light house and the sea lions that soak up the sun and warmth during low tide. Shown are also kayakers, a schooner, a fishing boat, a lobster boat and buoys and a sailboat. I am happy to say that this 24 X 24 painting is sold to a collector of my art but the print can be purchased here.
“Love Birds” these two are definitely in love singing to each other. There are hearts and music notes floating in the air. The male birds is standing with his legs jauntily crossed as they stand over their heart shaped nest with five blue eggs. Truly a match made in Heaven. The print can be purchased here.
“Striped Heart” This heart has so much bling. The background is painted in bronze and gold with xo’s all around. The multicolored stripes have different designs with rhinestones surrounding it. This print would speak volumes to someone you love. The prints can be found here.

‘Bunny Love” with a sweet little grey bunny surrounded by a gold heart and lavender flowers. See the carrot in her mouth? This would make a great Easter Card to send out. It is also available in the three sizes. Link to it is here. If you are looking for others I will be putting more up each day.

We Are the Same

Because of the recent events I thought this should be the next painting to add to the store. No matter what color of hair, or skin, or religion or sexual orientation we are all made the same. This can be purchased Here in three different sizes.

In The Pines

The most recent addition to the store. This painting has become a huge favorite. From the quote-Take Our Hearts for a Walk in the Woods and Listen to the Magic Whispers of Old Trees. To the green trees, the moose, red fox and pine martin. Now available for purchase in two sizes.

Summer Garden

Summer Garden is the most recent print to be added to the store. The original is a mixed media painting with a dragonfly with paper wings and a paper grasshopper with some painted features. Colorful flowers with floating dandelion puffs and a quote from Heinrich Heine, a German author, composer. “She dances here, She dances there. The glimmering, glittering flutterer fair.” This would be a perfect picture for a child’s room, someone who is taking dance possibly. It can be purchased in three different sizes. The link to this picture is here.

FALL!

Last night we had the first freeze. Last week we had 90 degrees, then it drops to 40, now we hit the freeze mark. I just love this weather!! The sun in the blue skies, The cool breeze, but we did turn on the heat for just a bit to take the chill off. Saturday I set up at A Renaissance at Roanoke Art Fair. I have to say the morning was crispy and my fingers were tingling. It was my last outdoor show of the year. Lots of good artist, good customers. The sun came out and the weather behaved. If you want to know where I will be next be sure to check my front page. I have the list there. On to my pictures, I went outside this crispy morning and snapped some pictures. One of my three catnip plants. It is on the porch so we will see if it lasts. The cats loved having some fresh catnip last night. They were all loopy, some more than others.

On the porch again. Still loving my succulents, that are just growing and growing. I don’t want to bring them in because they love that porch. But the time will come.

Our new white mums that turn a pinky shade when they start to fade. I like a little bit of white, it adds a stunning element to the landscaping.

Had some rain yesterday morning, this morning is frozen water. I put this birdbath in this spot because it is outside of my studio. Not one bird landed in it, darn it! I thought at least the hummingbirds would stop and take a drink, they are always at the catmint.

When it warms up to 55 today I wonder if the balloon flower will look as good since it was out in the garden.

Stunning raspberry colored mums.

I liked the colors of the bush changing with the sunlight. Some of my favorite colors.

I picked up three little pumpkins, a subtle yet elegant fall touch. Plus, I didn’t want to haul around big pumpkins. I stepped away from my part time job to totally focus on my art business so I listen to the television more. They spend so much on campaign commercials! My son Kevin says why don’t they tell us why we should vote for them instead of why we shouldn’t vote for the other guy. I think that makes such good sense, yeah, why don’t they? I am very excited about going to a play tonight with my friend Theresa. We are going to see The Choir of Man at the Beautiful Embassy Theater. Get a little dinner before, and it should be a great evening.

Lastly, I wrote about Barney yesterday and I am happy to say he is now up in my store. He can be purchased in three different sizes. He is a handsome owl and would look great in an owl lovers favorite spot. I also think it would look nice in an office because it has a distinguished look.
