Added to my store

I am catching up and getting the newer paintings added to my online store. These are only for reproductions as I am taking the originals to the art fairs that I am selling at. This painting is Titled “Just Visiting”. A beautiful Luna Moth stopped by in my yard for a short visit till it hopped the next breeze that came through. This reproduction can be purchased in three sizes and click here to go to the store.
This painting is called “Heart of Man” and it has 44 different species added to it. I enjoyed researching and painting each and every one. I had taken an early painting and gave it a facelift. The early painting was titled “Pursue the Passion” and it is listed in my shop also. To find “Heart of Man” click here. The original painting is sold.
“Rejoice” was completed two weeks ago.. It is a mixed media painting and the next time I will be showing the original is at Market on 6th in Auburn, Saturday September 4th. This barn owl is showing it’s beautiful wings while it lands on the nest sheltering three precious eggs. The title came from the Henry David Thoreau quote used on it. Click here to go to the store for a reproduction. It can also be purchased in three different sizes.
“Lets Party” has finally made it to the store. I started this years ago then misplaced my pad. I then started another which can be found on my store titled “Party Cats” which it is very similar but smaller. These are some of our family cats who I thought needed a party. They have their hats, balloons, confetti and must have started dancing on the wall. This is perfect to give to a cat lover for their birthday. It comes in three sizes also. Click here to go to the store.

I will be posting more this week and also working on a larger blog post about other events that are happening in our lives. I have lots of pictures to share.

Original Art For Sale – Aim for the Moon

I made this painting three years ago and so many people say they love it, but the right person hasn’t come along yet to give it a good home. It took quite a while to make because the wings on many of the birds are strips of wallpaper. All the birds are made with wallpaper but I then painted over areas. The owls are, from top to bottom….Great Horned, Snowy, Barn, Saw-Whet and Burrowing with adolescent. The burrow is made with molding paste and acrylic paint. The size is 18 X 24 gallery wrapped canvas. If you are interested and would like to talk about this painting please contact me.

A wise old owl sat on an oak, the more he saw the less he spoke. The less he spoke, the more he heard. Why can’t we all be like that bird?

FALL!

Last night we had the first freeze. Last week we had 90 degrees, then it drops to 40, now we hit the freeze mark. I just love this weather!! The sun in the blue skies, The cool breeze, but we did turn on the heat for just a bit to take the chill off. Saturday I set up at A Renaissance at Roanoke Art Fair. I have to say the morning was crispy and my fingers were tingling. It was my last outdoor show of the year. Lots of good artist, good customers. The sun came out and the weather behaved. If you want to know where I will be next be sure to check my front page. I have the list there. On to my pictures, I went outside this crispy morning and snapped some pictures. One of my three catnip plants. It is on the porch so we will see if it lasts. The cats loved having some fresh catnip last night. They were all loopy, some more than others.

On the porch again. Still loving my succulents, that are just growing and growing. I don’t want to bring them in because they love that porch. But the time will come.

Our new white mums that turn a pinky shade when they start to fade. I like a little bit of white, it adds a stunning element to the landscaping.

Had some rain yesterday morning, this morning is frozen water. I put this birdbath in this spot because it is outside of my studio. Not one bird landed in it, darn it! I thought at least the hummingbirds would stop and take a drink, they are always at the catmint.

When it warms up to 55 today I wonder if the balloon flower will look as good since it was out in the garden.

Stunning raspberry colored mums.

I liked the colors of the bush changing with the sunlight. Some of my favorite colors.

I picked up three little pumpkins, a subtle yet elegant fall touch. Plus, I didn’t want to haul around big pumpkins. I stepped away from my part time job to totally focus on my art business so I listen to the television more. They spend so much on campaign commercials! My son Kevin says why don’t they tell us why we should vote for them instead of why we shouldn’t vote for the other guy. I think that makes such good sense, yeah, why don’t they? I am very excited about going to a play tonight with my friend Theresa. We are going to see The Choir of Man at the Beautiful Embassy Theater. Get a little dinner before, and it should be a great evening.

Lastly, I wrote about Barney yesterday and I am happy to say he is now up in my store. He can be purchased in three different sizes. He is a handsome owl and would look great in an owl lovers favorite spot. I also think it would look nice in an office because it has a distinguished look.

Shapes

DSC_0598

Sharing layer one of my owl mixed media painting, just the shapes right now. In front of the moon is a great horned owl, you can just see the shape. Next comes a snow owl, then a barn owl, a sweet little saw whet owl. At the bottom a burrowing owl with the baby in the burrow. Keep checking back for progress, this is really going to be a fun picture to put together! Hope you think it is interesting and as always….thank you for checking in.
