Aim for the Moon

While researching online I found that there are more than 225 species of owls. The idea of the painting came about because my Sister-in-Law shared a picture of a Great Horned Owl that was on their fence. I realized that his head was completely turned around because we were looking at his tail feathers. What an amazing feat! I was also practicing drawing a Saw-Whet Owl and decided that they were some of the most amazing birds. The owls that I decided that should reside in my mixed media painting are the more common species in North America. From top to bottom: The Great Horned Owl, Snowy Owl, Barn Owl, Saw-Whet Owl and the Adult and Baby Burrowing Owls. There are various mediums used to make this picture, wallpaper, molding paste, acrylic paint, gel medium, ink, rubberstamps and oil paintstiks. The title of this painting is Aim for the Moon.
This painting can be purchased in three sizes:
- 12.5 X 9.5 that will fit in a ready made matte 10 X 13.
