More fun with beautiful quilts

One program we signed up for was a luncheon Mary Fons doing a Q and A which was very interesting informal.
Another moment we made sure to attend was the walk through with Fons and Porter talking about their quilts and the story behind them. Here Liz is discussing the North Carolina Lily and the Lilys are going in different directions so no one end gets worn out.
I was very taken with this feathered start, it is just all around beautiful.
I took this close up because of the leaves which were hand drawn from strips that were used in the quilt. I also liked the fussy cut little doll leave.
Also from this same quilt I enjoyed the rick rack. They said that if you do a quilt from 30’s reproductions that rick rack was invented then and used often. It looks cute on a quilt.
Lastly our picture in front of the QHOF sign under the lovely shade tree. It is a very nice place with ever changing displays of quilts.
