Frankfort Michigan

In July we took our yearly trip for a week to Frankfort. One of our favorite things to do is watch for a pretty sunset. This was our first night and the light came on at 9:25 p.m. There were also many boats watching for the sunset, you can see those dots on the horizon.
While at the Oliver Art Center I found these cards by Katie Lowran, her rendition of the Frankfort Light.
The sun dropping from the sky into the water. People walking on the breakwater to enjoy it up close and personal.
When I saw this card I just had no idea about where it was at.
When we were taking the boat tour on the West Bay of Traverse City, the guide pointed out this red buoy with an eight on it. It meant it is only eight feet deep, I had my answer. Now it is early August, the kids are going back to school and it has turned a bit cooler, but just for a few days. This weekend I will be doing Bloom Fest and the weather is supposed to be between 70 and 75. Wow! 140 booths, it’s gonna be a good time.

    Hello Robin!

Thank you so much for your lovely blog post! I’m thrilled to hear that my rendition of the Frankfort Pier Lighthouse caught your eye and resonated with you.

I’m also glad that my Red Eight notecard helped answer the mystery of the red buoy with the eight on it—art has a way of making connections and sparking curiosity, doesn’t it?

It’s always inspiring to see how other artists capture vibrant moments and emotions in their work. Your creativity and use of color is inspiring and your artwork is stunning!

Cheers to you and thank you for sharing your kindness!
